Dawn Metropolis Arouses the Gamer Within

Who would have believed that the blippy background music of our favorite NES games would ever later reemerge as the music we listen to 20 years later, sans the 8-bit games? The four guys in Anamanaguchi, are bringin’ it back with by the addition of some punk infused drums and guitars in association with the extracted sound effects of a hacked 1985 Nintendo Entertainment System. Doing so they have tapped that fountain of our youth to come up with some hyper-catchy tunes.

It makes me think that if I hadn’t been forced to “go outside and play,” instead of sitting two inches from my TV playing Paperboy and drinking orange soda for hours I could be doing making awesome music like this. Thanks mom >:P

All the songs are really fun to listen to and I bet they give a great show. It does get a little repetitive after a while though and makes me start scratching my head wondering where the hell I put my old Nintendo at. Dammit I need to play it now!

Check out their website for new releases and remixes released every two weeks as well as some amusing anime inspired artwork to give you Tourette’s while you download.
